Dear Fellow Broncos,
We are excited to be back on campus, and we are even more excited about the upcoming semester. We have been hard at work in finalizing projects and plans that will make students’ experiences better than ever.
The fire pit is currently finished and is located between apartment buildings 919 and 923.
We’re currently working with the Maintenance Department to finalize the location for extra lighting on campus. The installation of blue safety lights is still a possibility.
Both our cabinet and Pat McCauley are finalizing plans on the renovations for the HSU workout room. The improvements being finalized include: fixing machines, purchasing more thera-bands, purchasing jump ropes, etc.
On Sept. 13 the Community Affairs Committee will host a quidditch match in conjunction with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hastings. Students are encouraged to attend and become involved with the program.
On Sept. 18 the Cultural Events Committee is planning to bring in a speaker who will address immigration from an immigrant’s perspective. The speaker and times will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
On Sept. 23 the first free movie night of the year will take place. Potential movies and times will be announced at a later date.
The Intramural Committee and the Executive Council have received interest in coordinating a powder puff football tournament during Homecoming. Sign-up for the tournament will be announced in the coming weeks.
We are always open to new ideas, so feel free to make suggestions to us about how to make your experience here at HC better than ever.
Sincerely, your 2015-16 SA Cabinet,
Ethan Carpenter, Tyler Schuster, Laura Arnold, Collin Tedesco and Cameron Bargell.
